At the Visual.ly Data Visualization Meetup last night, Hadley Wickham, the creator of ggplot2, gave us a quick working session with two common sample datasets (cars and diamonds) to get up and running with the R and ggplot2 combo. I have been admiring ggplot2 for a while and this is exactly what I needed to get rolling. Hadley is a great teacher.
His slides are here.
Starting out with a fresh mac that didn’t have developer tools installed, I first had to install xcode and the included fortran compiler before I could get R installed from the terminal.
